well, it has finally happened.
my jw husband came home last week and told me he is moving out.
it seems he has been talking to the elders, and they feel his spirituality is being threatened (even though i have not insisted he stop going to meetings, i won't allow any jw material in my home because of my children from a previous marriage - i don't want them exposed to it.

many of you have known me through the board for quite some time now and you know that i have had quite a battle with depression, anxiety and even suicidal thoughts.
i am on a medication now that has really helped me.
if any of you suffer daily from worry, depression and anxiety i really urge you to seek help.
Good for you, JB! Glad to hear you're feeling better, cher!

this may be bizzare to some of you and maybe not from for others!!
you see i bought this super duper vacum cleaner this past week-end.
what i want to do is ritual or honoring with my old hoover vacuum cleaner.
OCW, the planter in the garden ideas are good.....one thing, though....the vac bag is liable to rot out in the weather like that.....why not cover the whole thing with a not very thick coating of some kind of liquid that hardens and poke holes in the bag before the coating dries, then shellac it or something to "weatherize" it before you begin planting things in it......that way, it will not only retain its shape, but be serviceable as a planter for much longer....and you could coat it in a color that would be harmonious with your garden....

one of the things the society prides itself over is that jw's are not only preachers but also teachers.
jw's are told that they have the "best education in the world".
jw's are taught for a number of months before they are allowed to get baptized.
Min, I'm just relieved that when I got baptised the wording of the baptismal oath was an oath of loyalty to God and not to those shtanky ol' menz....it's changed since then....so their disf-ing me to apostasy over my letter reprooving THEM was invalid...and illegal in God's eyes....not that I'd wanna go back....ever....

when you were a witness, and the end actually came, how do you think you would have reacted?.
with all the blood and carnage, do you think you really would have been so happy?
the day we awaited was actually here?.
Yanno.....it's refreshingly hysterically funny to read yall's posts on this thread....now.....

with all the talk in the organization about the end being so close, and we have all heard this story over and over again for years, as a young/loyal jw, did you think you would see your 60th birthday.. if we were to walk into the kingdom hall today and poll all the jw's under 30, and ask them "will you see your 60th birthday", what kind of response would you get ???.
armageddon is not coming, the year 2014 will pass, as will 2025, 2075, 2100, and even 3000. .
would love to hear experiences from some of the older ones on this board, who probaly thought the same thing when they were young.
Funny you should ask....not even as an older, loyal jdub did I ever wonder whether I would reach my 60th....

on bank holiday monday just gone, a dear kind older couple in the cong decided to take me and my good lady out for a slap up meal, to try to cheer us up after the recent upheaval in our life.
somehow i ended up with the bill.. anyway, this was the local italian trattoria were we often go, and are on first names terms with the staff and quite a few of the other regulars.
big mistake!!.
Cas, make up one of those "sandwich board" signs and on it, put an enlarged copy of the receipt for the restaurant tab that YOU got stuck with....along with an explanation that this is what occurs when bro & sis so-and-so invite someone out to dinner......then march up and down at meeting times in front of the KH, wearing the "sandwich board" and advertise their scroogie tactics.....

something has been bothering me as of late.
my younger brother, who is 17 years old plans on getting married right after he turns 18 this upcoming year.
i have quite a few problems with this, but he thinks that he knows it all at his age.. i'm concerned for several reasons.
Print out a copy of this thread and send it to him anonymously.....

from my experience, and im fairly young so i still have a lot to learn, but i found that being honest can be very difficult and it also takes a good level of trust from both parties.
one night my fiance and i just sat and told each other everything about our past, you know, (if i tell him that he might leave) that kind of stuff.
well i'll tell you it was one of the most difficult things i've ever done.
Let's see now.....I was married to a man who would lie about ANY and EVERYthing, no matter how obvious the lies were and even when the truth would serve him better.....a man who loved to use his lyin' to play head games......and to run me down and humiliate me in public....
The answer is an unqualified NO! I even learned to lie to HIM, tho I had been an open and pretty honest person before....

I agree with Little Toe about leaving the bigamy issue alone for a while....you'll need to get legal advice, also, as to how to use the bigamy angle to your best advantage....it seems if yall weren't legally married, and the bills are in his name, he'll hafta pay for 'em....not you.....re: bigamy....no alimony......
